Automatic Email Alerts: Never Miss a Deadline Again

How automatic email alerts in business software prevent missed deadlines, expired certifications and overdue tasks.

The most requested feature in every project I build is automatic email alerts. It’s also the feature that delivers the most immediate value.

What Gets Alerted

  • Expiry reminders: Certifications, DBS checks, insurance policies — alerts at 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry.
  • Overdue tasks: If something should have been done by a certain date, the responsible person gets notified.
  • Status changes: New bookings, completed jobs, cancelled appointments — relevant people are informed instantly.
  • Threshold alerts: Stock below reorder level, budget spend above limit, equipment due for service.

Before automated alerts, a care home manager might check a spreadsheet once a week and hope nothing was missed. After alerts, they get an email the moment something needs attention. Nothing falls through the cracks.

Got a Spreadsheet That's Driving You Mad?

Send it over — I'll tell you what an app version would look like and what it'd cost. No obligation.
